Monogram Frames

Are you looking for a quick, easy, inexpensive project for your home? Why not add a little monogram frame to your kids bedroom doors?

Supplies:

  • Frame of your choice, with glass
  • Vinyl letter OR paint, paint brush & printer
  • Ribbon
  • Embellishments of your choosing
  • Glue gun & hot glue stick
  • 3M (or similar) velcro squares

To Do:
  1. If you're interested in painting, antiquing or distressing the frame (similar to the picture), do that first.
  2. Remove glass from the frame. Discard the cardboard back & stock photo. Hot glue the glass to the frame by running a thin line of hot glue around the INSIDE lip of the frame. Let set.
  3. Decide what you want the monogram letter to look like. Either cut it out of self-adhesive vinyl OR print a template (basically just type the letter in the font you like in the desired size).
  4. If you're doing the vinyl method-attach the vinyl to the glass.
  5. If you're going to paint it- Cut about an inch around the letter and then tape it on the inside of the frame, letter facing out. Using your paint and paint brush, follow your template and paint the letter on the glass. Let it dry, do a second coat if needed.
  6. Using the hot glue gun again, add ribbon and other embellishments.
  7. Using the 3M Velcro squares on each corner of the frame, attach the frame to the door. Don't rely on the ribbon to hold the entire frame up.
